The internships
will be provided in the following technical areas
Public Health & Epidemiology
Biostatistics
Public Health Data Management
Social and Behavioural Sciences
Library Sciences
Health system research
*Presently, internships are NOT
offered in laboratory disciplines such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology.
Please refrain from applying or sending separate emails for internships in this
matter.
Application procedure
Interested candidates are instructed to apply by filling the online application at the ICMR-NIE website.
Candidates should apply at least one month prior to the proposed internship start date failing which the application will be rejected.
The candidates should upload the signed Bonafide certificate from their institution with a passport-size photo during the registration process. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
The selected candidates will receive official communication of acceptance within 15 days of receiving the application. The rejected/non-selected applications will not receive any communication. Further correspondence in this regard will not be entertained. If any application is rejected, the candidate can re-apply after 2 months from the previous application date.

The minimum and maximum period for an internship will be two weeks and three months respectively

As per the ICMR-NIE policy, there are no fees for
the internship
No stipend or honorarium or TA/DA will be paid during the

General
instructions for selected candidates
No accommodation will be arranged/ provided for the
interns. The interns should make their own arrangements.
The selected candidates should follow ICMR-NIE rules and regulations
with regular attendance during the internship period.
The internship will be terminated immediately if any breach of the code
of conduct is reported by the mentor.
ICMR-NIE accepts no
responsibility for costs or fatality arising from illness /or accidents during
the internship period.
ICMR-NIE internships are purely academic in nature. The interns cannot
apply for any posts/positions at ICMR-NIE during the internship period.
ICMR-NIE has a strict policy on data security. Publication can be
developed based on internship work after obtaining due approval from the Manuscript
committee and Director, ICMR-NIE.
All Interns are required to submit a report of work done during their
internship, duly certified by their ICMR-NIE mentor.
An internship e-certificate will be provided at the end of the
successful completion of the internship.
